What Is a Zero Gravity Pedicure?
A zero gravity pedicure is a pedicure performed while you relax in a reclining chair that supports your body and elevates your legs. As the chair reclines, your weight feels more evenly supported, creating an almost floating sensation.
At Solari Head Spa in Oklahoma City, we pair that comfort with a waterless pedicure. Instead of soaking your feet in a shared basin, we use warm steam or micro mist, warm towels, customized skin care, and massage before completing your nail care.
For me, the chair is only part of what makes this experience special. It’s about making room for people to feel comfortable, cared for, and able to enjoy a peaceful pause.
Why We Brought Zero Gravity Treatments to Solari Head Spa.
The idea grew out of something I noticed with our hair guests. Some had difficulty leaning back into a traditional shampoo bowl. Even with our lower bowls, finding a comfortable position wasn’t always easy. We also started offering zero gravity facials and discovered how much guests appreciated having an alternative to lying completely flat on a facial bed or massage table. I hadn’t realized how many people found that position uncomfortable until we offered another option. That changed how I thought about our services. With a zero gravity recliner, we could offer leg treatments, pedicures, facials, scalp massages, and arm and hand treatments to guests who wanted relaxation but needed a different setup.
when the recliner is at a certain degree positon, it takes the pressure off your back and hips.
What Happens During a Zero Gravity Pedicure?
Settle Into a Supported Recliner
Your treatment begins in a zero gravity recliner. As you lean back, your legs rise and your body settles into the chair’s support. The feeling I hear myself describing most often is “almost like floating” (no gravity). Some of our chairs offer gentle massage and heat, while another offers air stretch and heat. The air stretch provides a different sensation for guests who don’t enjoy a vibration massage chair. My preference is for smooth, gentle movement of the air stretch. I want the chair to help you settle into the service, and we discuss your comfort and preferences before using its features.
Enjoy Warmth Without a Foot Bath
We begin by cleansing your legs and feet. Rather than placing them in a soaking basin, we use a disinfectant, warm steam or micro mist with distilled water, along with warm towels.
It creates a cozy, sauna-like warmth around your lower legs and feet without a traditional foot soak. This is what makes our pedicure waterless: there is no soaking basin. We still use water in the form of mist, steam, and damp towels.
Receive Customized Exfoliation and Skin Care
Our licensed technicians care for your lower legs and feet, from your knees to your toes, with exfoliation, callus removal, a hydrating mask, and relaxing blood circulation massage.
We use Eminence Organic Skin Care products and adjust the treatment to your skin.
That customization matters to me. Someone with rough, dry heels needs a different approach from someone with thin, delicate skin. A stronger scrub isn’t automatically a better treatment. We choose products and pressure to match our guests' needs. The goal is softer, hydrated skin and a comfortable, relaxing experience.
Finish With Detailed Nail Care
The full pedicure includes trimming and filing the nails, cuticle care, buffing as appropriate, and your choice of regular polish or a natural finish.
If you don’t want polish, we can finish with buffing and nail oil for a clean, cared-for look.
You don’t need a color on your toes to enjoy a pedicure.
What Is the Difference Between Our Leg Treatment and Pedicure?
At Solari, you can choose the relaxation and skin care portion on its own or book the full pedicure.
Our leg treatment focuses on your lower legs and feet, including warmth, exfoliation, callus care as appropriate, a hydrating mask, and massage.
It’s a good choice if you want the relaxation and skin care without nail work.
The leg treatment is $75 and lasts approximately one hour.
Waterless Zero Gravity Pedicure
The full waterless pedicure includes the leg treatment experience plus detailed nail and cuticle care, with regular polish or a natural finish.
The pedicure is $95 and lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Our Solari Total Reset package also includes the leg treatment. Nail care is not included in that package’s leg treatment portion.
How We Keep the Treatment Space Clean
One reason we chose a waterless approach was to remove the shared soaking basin from the experience. But a waterless service still requires careful cleaning and disinfection throughout the treatment space.
At Solari, our routine includes:
cleaning then processing our nail tools in an autoclave.
Removing used sheets, blankets, and towels after each guest.
Using appropriate cleaning and disinfecting products for chairs, trays, floors, and treatment surfaces.
Keeping towels color-coded by service, with designated towels for leg treatments, hair and scalp services, and facials.
The steam and micro mist provide warmth during your treatment. They do not replace our tool-processing, cleaning, or disinfection practices.
I want guests to understand what we actually do, rather than asking them to rely on the word “clean.” Removing a shared foot bath is one part of our approach; caring for everything used during the appointment is just as important.
A Quieter, More Private Pedicure Experience
The atmosphere is another reason this service feels different.
At Solari, your pedicure takes place in a quieter, more private treatment room, rather than a large open area with a row of pedicure chairs.
You can settle back, enjoy the warmth, and let the service unfold without feeling like you’re in the middle of a busy nail salon.
You can also bring a friend and enjoy pedicures together. For some guests, that shared time is part of the relaxation.
Can You Pair It With a Scalp or Facial Massage?
Yes. The reclined position allows us to arrange services such as a scalp massage, facial massage or a Classic Facial while another provider performs your leg treatment.
This is one of my favorite ways to experience full relaxation. Having your feet and lower legs cared for while receiving a gentle scalp or facial massage can feel wonderfully indulgent. If you want simultaneous treatments, ask when booking so we can coordinate the providers and room availability. We offer a nice service bundle on weekdays with an extended head spa too, The Solari Reset.
Is a Zero Gravity Pedicure Right for You?
You may enjoy this service if you:
Prefer a pedicure without a soaking basin.
Find lying completely flat uncomfortable.
Want lower-leg and foot care alongside your nail service.
Prefer gentle chair features and an adjustable reclining position.
Enjoy a quieter, more private spa setting.
Want a natural nail finish instead or polish.
Before we begin, tell us about your skin sensitivity, comfort preferences, and any concerns about your feet or nails. That conversation helps us decide how to adjust your experience.
What I Want Every Guest to Know Before Booking
I created Solari Head Spa around the idea that beauty services can give you a chance to slow down. With our zero gravity pedicures, the nail care matters, but so does everything surrounding it: the position of your chair, the warmth of the towels, the products we choose, and the way we care for your skin and you. You can come in for polished toes, a natural finish, or simply an hour devoted to tired-feeling legs and feet. My goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to settle in, breathe, and enjoy being our guest. Ask for our Green Tea and honey too!
